Away from the crowds - Lake boat ride, Caves and Waterfalls

Visit a nearby lake for a boat ride followed by a short drive through the forest to a hermit monk's cave and then to series of step waterfalls. This tour is away from the more usual commercialized tourist spots to see some simple places of natural beauty.

A 30 minute drive takes us to a lakeside restaurant where we will take a boat tour around a popular fishing lake, past a dam and across to the far side where we will be collected by pick-up truck and driven through the forest to a small parking area.

From the parking area we will walk a short way down a forest track to a stairway which leads up to a cave. Here in the entrance of the cave there are stalactites to see and an alter used by the hermit monk who is sometimes present.

As we return towards the lake we will call at a small village to watch some basket weaving beside the village temple and then to a vantage point over a small river valley.

Finally we visit a nature reserve area beside a small river where you may wish to cool down with a swim before returning to the lake where we will be collected by the boat which will take us back to the restaurant area and then back to the hotel.
