Botanic Garden and
Orchid farms
Take time to enjoy the magnificent "Queen Sirikit
Botanical Garden" situated just to the north of Chiang Mai.
Approximately 20 minutes drive from PJ's Place we will reach the "Queen
Sirikit Botanic Garden"

The garden was established in 1993 by the Botanic
Gardens Organization of Thailand under the Ministry of Natural Resources
and Environment. In 1994 the B.G.O. was granted royal permission to name
the garden after Her Majesty's name.
The gardens
which cover approximately 1000 hectares contain nature walks through a
variety of plant and tree specimens, a number of glasshouses containing a
wide variety of plants including Lotus, Begonias, Thai medicinal plants
and many other ornamental and native plants. There is also a conservatory
containing many Tropical rainforest trees and plants where you can also
take a walkway through the treetops.

After
visiting the Botanic Gardens we take a short drive to an Orchid farm where
first we can have lunch before taking a tour of the nurseries over 200
different varieties of Orchids.
